Optional day walks are easy to moderate difficulty, with the highest elevation we stay at being 7900 ft. The weather is comfortable in the Canyon in the summer due to the rainy season and the ft. elevations. Summer in the Canyon is the greenest and most relaxed time of the year.

Note: Our entry city, Los Mochis, Sinaloa, is 500 miles below the border of Nogales, Arizona, and Nogales, Mexico. First class buses with movies, air conditioning and bathrooms leave several times a day from Nogales, Mexico, for Los Mochis. The round-trip fare is about $50.00. Tucson or Phoenix both have daily flights into Los Mochis. The round-trip airfare is around $250.00.

September in the Sierra Madre brings fields of wildflowers, lush green hillsides and the beginning of the harvest season. The summer monsoon thunderstorms have gone, leaving the landscape refreshed and vibrant. Spectacular photo opportunities.
